| Description | Macquarie University lies on the fringe of a region of north-western Sydney that Joe Frost has drawn and painted since the 1990s. ‘Between Stations’ presents a selection of these works alongside a new project that places the artist’s hand-painted banners and placards at outdoor locations within the area, documented and exhibited in the MUAG. Reflecting an individual’s evolving relationship to their place of origin, ‘Between Stations’ relates personal history to public space in an urban environment characterised by change. Joe Frost will share insights into the exhibition, his connection to the Ryde local area, and how growing up in suburban Eastwood has influenced his artistic practice. These Artist Talks will be held on Wednesday 20 May and Saturday 6 June at 1pm.
