Because of Her We Can | NAIDOC 2018

6 August 2018

6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Macquarie University City Campus, Level 24, 123 Pitt Street

The theme for NAIDOC Week 2018 celebrates the essential role that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women have played – and continue to play – as active and significant role models at the community, local, state and national levels.

Emeritus Professor MaryAnn Bin-Sallik, Dr Jackie Huggins AM and Fiona Jose are this years distinguished speakers all delivering a short talk in line with the theme “Because of Her, We Can!”. This includes reflections on their journey in leadership, visionary direction on a local, regional and/or national level and insights for how higher education can continue to contribute to the success of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and girls.

Following the talks please join us in a Q&A session hosted by Professor Leanne Holt with our distinguished speakers.

This event is proudly supported by The Department of Indigenous Studies, Walanga Muru and the Aboriginal Health Medical Research Council.

Find out more and register online before the 5 August
