Master of Criminology webinar

Understanding who commits these types of crime, their motivations for doing so, how society responds to such crime and how the impact of crime can be alleviated are all the pursuit of criminologists.

In this webinar, Dr Rolando Ochoa Hernandez, Lecturer in the Department of Security Studies and Criminology introduces Macquarie’s Master of Criminology, explains how this course, with combines traditional criminology theory and practice with a unique and practical emphasis on terrorism studies, cyber terrorism and border security, will establish or advance a career in corrective services, policy development, policing or many other areas both in Australia and overseas.

Dr Rolando Ochoa Hernandez is the Program Director for the Master of Criminology at Macquarie University. His research interests include organized crime in Latin America and the Asia Pacific region, the political economy of crime, governance of criminal organizations, and issues of trust and reputation. His current research looks at the recruitment practices of criminal organizations, as well as the presence of Mexican drug cartels in the Asia Pacific region.
