A Macquarie University Art Gallery exhibition in collaboration with Cowra Regional Art Gallery.

The University Librarian JoAnne Sparks invites you and a guest to the exhibition opening Making a Splash: Mermaids and Modernity to be opened by Professor Elspeth Probyn Department of Gender and Cultural Studies, The University of Sydney.

Guest Appearance − Skye Mead, Singer/composer will perform live the song Lure created for Making a Splash: Mermaids and Modernity.

–  Waldo Garrido from The Moviolas will perform the composition Sirena Garden.

Curators: Philip Hayward, Rhonda Davis and Leonard Janisweski

Making a Splash: Mermaids and Modernity explores the mermaid as an active agency and cultural figure of the contemporary world. The exhibition features new works offering fresh perspectives of the mermaid including painting, photography, sound, video and installation.
