Exercising the body and mind as we age

We all want to keep our bodies and minds healthy as we get older. Many of us experience bone and joint problems as we age which require surgery; and struggle with issues like back pain and how to exercise correctly to maintain our flexibility and posture. We all know that exercise is key to improved mental clarity, boosting energy and building strength to meet the physical demands of daily living.

This event will focus how to keep our bodies healthy and well-exercised with minimum impact on bones and joints both pre- and post-surgery. It will focus on the benefits of keeping the mind healthy and active through activities like volunteering and staying informed on the latest learnings and research at Macquarie University’s MQHealth.

Our keynote speaker is health and wellbeing expert Anna-Louise Bouvier, the founder of the exercise physiotherapy program Physiocise and Adjunct Fellow, Department of Health Professionals at Macquarie. You will also hear research updates from Macquarie University experts.

After the panel, you will have the chance to enjoy a delightful afternoon tea with our guest speakers and your fellow Macquarie University alumni.

Spaces are limited so register by Wednesday 10 July to secure your spot (unless booked out prior).
