Professor Bamini Gopinath a Chief Investigator on CSIRO Emerging Technologies Program

Congratulations to Professor Tao Gu from Macquarie University's School of Computing who has secured a large project from the CSIRO for the Next Generation Emerging Technologies Graduates program - 'Artificial Intelligence of Things for Resilient and Sustainable Smart Cities'. The project's Chief Investigators include MU Hearing's Professor Bamini Gopinath.Prof Bamini Gopinath

The program proposes a unique research and training opportunity in digital technology which is essential to the future development of resilient and sustainable smart cities. The research will be centred around Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT) which combines AI and IoT. It aims to research, develop and deliver novel IoT platforms and solutions that will allow for massive connectivity of sensors, intelligent processing of data, and AIoT infrastructure support to optimise city functions and drive economic growth while improving quality of life for its citizens.

This program puts together a multi-disciplinary research program to support postgraduate training for 10 PhD students. The research in this program focuses on digital technology including IoT, AI, data science and digital twins for smart cities.

Congratulations to all the Investigators:  Prof Tao Gu (Computing), Prof Jian Yang (Computing), Bamini Gopinath (MU Hearing), Dr Jia Wu (Computing), Prof Mahbub Hassan (UNSW), Wen Hu (UNSW), Yijiao Jiang (Engineering), Fatemeh Salehi (Engineering), Michael Sheng (Computing).
