FIRST Australia Tournament

FIRST® Robotics is an internationally acclaimed robotics program that inspires a passion for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths in young people. Founded in the USA in 1989, FIRST® Australia was established at Macquarie University in 2006. Since then, FIRST® Australia has partnered with schools and universities across Australia with teams and competitions held in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth. Australian teams have enjoyed remarkable success attending the FIRST® World Championship Tournament each year from 2006 to 2018. An Australian FRC team, #3132 Thunder Down Under, is the first team outside of North America to win the prestigious Chairman's Award - the highest award that can be achieved in FIRST.

Macquarie University is the home of FIRST Team, 3132 'Thunder Down Under'. If you are interesting in joining the team, contact Michael Heimlich.

Macquarie University Robot Club Macquarie University Robotics Club

The Macquarie University Robotics Club brings together students with an interest in designing and building robotic systems, large or small. These include engineering students of all levels, as well as software students, artists, even lawyers and those who simply have an interest. We hold skill development workshops and tool training, brainstorming and development sessions in a shared "maker space" on university grounds. We also hold tutorial/help sessions for students who would like more help and input for their engineering/software units.
