Energy Technologies

Transforming the energy sector is of global importance. The Department of Environmental Sciences has internationally recognised research strengths in sustainable energy research. Our expertise lies in the research and development of clean fuel technologies, the assessment of the environmental performance of energy generation technologies and policy outcomes and in processing of biomass and undervalued resources and wastes for biofuel production and specialty chemicals and organic fertilisers. Our research aims to provide an impactful contribution to progress renewable energy production, reduce greenhouse emissions and other contaminants from the energy sector through industry partnerships. We strive to produce innovative technological designs and develop new methodological approaches.
