The importance of developing thinking skills in dealing with rapid global change and technological developments now and into the future is fast becoming the focus of education systems across the world.
What were once regarded as soft skills are now becoming core skills. For example we know that different forms of thinking enable students to understand, reflect, influence and shape their world. Teachers play an important role in supporting their students’ to become ‘thinkers’.
Education experts, industry leaders and governments are interested in how best to enhance critical and creative thinking, problem solving, ethical reasoning, computational thinking, and metacognition and data facility.
A panel of experts will look at ways teachers can use practice based evidence to gather data to improve their students’ capacities in these skills and how can we encourage learners to be able to think about thinking in answering the big questions.
