The 3MT Competition
Congratulations to Selene Petit and Signy Wegener for their recent 3MT (Three Minute Thesis) successes. The 3MT celebrates the exciting research conducted by PhD students. Developed by the University of Queensland, the exercise cultivates students’ academic, presentation and research skills. The competition supports their capacity to effectively explain their research in 3 minutes, in a language appropriate to non-specialist audience (http://threeminutethesis.org/)
In the 2018 Department of Cognitive Science round, Selene Petit took our first position and Signy Wegener won second position and the People's Choice Award.
Selene went on to participate in the 2018 Faculty of Human Sciences round, in which she won first place. She then competed in the University finals, and again, won first place! Selene represented Macquarie University at the National 3MT competition held at the University of Queensland on 27th September 2018 where she won the second place. Congratulations again to both Selene and Signy, and thank you for representing Cognitive Science with such intelligence and class.
