Faculty of Business and Economics Excellence Awards

Faculty of Business and Economics Excellence Awards

The Faculty of Business and Economics Excellence Awards ceremony for 2016 was held on Thursday 28 September.

The annual celebration dedicated to highlighting the achievements of our students was held at the Ivy in the city this year and for the first time included students from both the Faculty of Business and Economics and the Macquarie Graduate School of Management.

Prizes were awarded by the Executive Dean, Professor Stephen Brammer, to undergraduate and postgraduate students to acknowledge their outstanding achievements in academic excellence.  Awards were also presented to Faculty staff to acknowledge their dedication and commitment.

The Master of Ceremonies for the event was Professor Leigh Wood, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Students) and Jialong Gary Xiao gave the student speech. There was a keynote presentation by Jeffrey Von Drehnen, Senior Manager at Jobs for NSW. His discussion on the future of work, particularly in NSW, resonated clearly with the audience, especially as many of the students present were commencing their careers. It was a celebratory evening for Faculty staff, students and their families as well as our generous sponsors and donors who support the awards.
