Macquarie’s world-class production facilities are second in size only to Fox Studios and include: two well-appointed music studios, radio studio, a full film studio with lights and green screen; dance studio with 180-degree projection and sprung floor; and a performance studio with advanced lighting and sound. These features give the Department a distinct point-of-difference to other institutions.
Macquarie is also the home of the Digital Newsroom which has been custom-built for journalism, radio and digital media students. Here, you can gain critical new media knowledge and technical skills that are required to produce quality content across multiple platforms.
The Digital Newsroom has state-of-the-art equipment that presents the department as a leader in online production studio technology and is available to students anywhere in Australia. It offers the same advanced setup used by leading broadcasters and news outlets internationally, including: green screen TV studios with remote controlled cameras, lighting and auto cue technology; Tricaster vision mixer with virtual sets; and cutting-edge production and collaboration tools.
