The study experience

Tailor your area of focus


Our MBA program features 16 course units, including 10 foundation units and six elective units you select from a range of more than 40 options. The 10 foundation units expose you to different general management perspectives, whereas the six elective units allow you to tailor your program to focus on your management field of interest and career goals.

Flexible study options


Choose where to study, whether online, at our North Ryde or Sydney CBD City Campus or at our international campus in Hong Kong.

Attain your MBA in two years with a full-time program or choose a pace to fit in with a busy lifestyle and study part-time over three or four years via weekly lectures, block classes or online interactive classes.

Our MBA program is designed for managers with at least three years’ professional experience. You’ll meet participants from around the world who are likewise experienced and ambitious, giving you unparalleled networking opportunities across a diversity of industries, from healthcare, utilities and insurance to media, retail and information services.

The MGSM MBA is a mix of theory and real-world experience, delivered through internships and exchange opportunities with our industry partners and partner schools.

To successfully complete your MBA, you must complete all the core units of study plus 6 elective units.

The required standard of English for this program is:

All applicants to coursework programs at Macquarie University are required to provide evidence of proficiency in English.

Academic IELTS of 7.0 overall with minimum 6.0 in each band, or equivalent.

International

Entry into most postgraduate degrees requires you to have successfully completed a bachelor degree or equivalent from a recognised institution. You may also need to have achieved a specific Weighted Average Mark (WAM) or undertaken work experience. Our admissions team will determine whether your qualifications and prior experience meet the entry requirements and is also likely to satisfy the Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement for a Student Visa.

Macquarie provides indicative WAM conversions for a range of different grading systems from different countries. Please view our academic entry requirements for international students.
