Supporting you every step of the way

The MBA course offers a contemporary curriculum, a wide range of student support and career services, international exchange opportunities, internships, exposure to business leaders, and an established alumni network.

Student support

The MBA Orientation Day is an excellent opportunity to meet and network with your fellow students, as well as providing you with all the information you’ll need to make your MBA journey as smooth as possible.

Student Services Centre

The Centre provides everything you need to get the best start to your program of study and acquire the skills required to go further – both professionally and personally.

We offer advice on all aspects of your award program, and our staff can support your proactive study management.

We assist in:

  • changing, deferring or progressing to a higher program
  • choosing which units to study
  • confirming your timetable
  • and much more.

Career services

Develop your career through a well-structured strategic career development program (CDP), as well as through active engagement with industry and prospective employers.

The purpose of the CDP is to help you develop an individualised action plan to achieve the career you want through:

  • a career program integrated in key units throughout the MBA curriculum: Managing People, Leadership Practice and Development, and the Capstone unit.
  • personalised coaching sessions with our professional career coaches
  • career development and skills-based workshops, including our Career Navigation Series and Linked In workshops
  • effective student self-assessments.

Your study experience with us is not limited by classroom walls or international borders. Broaden your experience by immersing yourself in another culture while earning credit towards your MBA course.

Complete part of your course with one of our overseas partner institutions, ranging from two weeks to four months in length. More about exchange programs.

The Management Internship (MMBA8155) is an elective unit in the MBA course that offers eligible students the opportunity to work on a current business project over a period of ten weeks at the host organisation’s office.

The internship allows students to provide management consulting services to an organisation, applying theory to practice and learning about a new business or industry first-hand. During the internship, an academic who specialises in the subject matter actively supervises students.

Internships are diverse in nature, and our students have worked on the following types of projects:

  • business innovation and disruptive technologies
  • change management and organisational strategy
  • corporate social responsibility and sustainability
  • financial modelling
  • marketing/business strategy and planning
  • process and performance improvement
  • supply chain and operation management.

If your organisation is interested in hosting an MBA intern (unpaid) to solve some business issues from a fresh and creative perspective, contact MGSM careers execareers@mgsm.edu.au for more information.
