The Joan and John Lincoln Society

The Joan and John Lincoln Society has been established by University Council to honour the elder statesmen and women of the University, and in particular those who have made it known they have left a bequest to the University in their Will.

Macquarie University Chancellor The Hon. Michael Egan launched the Society at a special event on October 20, 2009. His Hon. Dr John Francis Lincoln AM, for whom with his late wife Joan the Society is named, announced at the launch he is establishing a scholarship fund for Indigenous students and he is leaving a bequest to augment that fund.

The Bequest Program began with graduate Derek To informing the University in 2008 that he wanted to make a bequest to the University. We have featured Mr To in our  "Supporting Macquarie through Bequests"  booklet. The bequest booklet and the Society's Charter is available for downloading below.

Over the last year, several people have let us know they have made bequests to the University, including Vice-Chancellor Professor Steven Schwartz and his wife Claire. Along with His Hon. Dr. Lincoln and Mr To, Professor and Mrs Schwartz are the founding Patrons of the Society.

An exciting program of activities for the Society in 2010 is currently being arranged(also available below).
