Fines and Penalties

You must return Library items by their due date. Failure to do so will incur a fine and you will not be able to borrow, renew loans or place items on hold until the overdue item is returned.

It is important to pay outstanding fines, regardless of the amount, as they will prevent you from re-enrolling and graduating, as well as accessing your academic transcripts and exam results. Once outstanding fines accrue to a value of $50, borrowing restrictions will apply.

How to Avoid Fines

  • Return or renew items before the due date.
  • Report lost Campus Cards immediately as anything borrowed on your card is your responsibility.
  • Check your email or MyLibrary regularly. Items may be recalled at any time. The Library emails reminders and overdue notices as a courtesy only. Failure to receive a notice does not constitute the basis for cancelling a fine.
