The Department of Statistics at Macquarie University is one of Australia’s largest University statistics departments.
Commercially and in research the department applies statistics to a myriad of fields, including medicine, social science, biology, sport and finance.
The department offers the full range of statistical activity, from training undergraduates to supervising postdoctoral scholars.
At the undergraduate level, statistics units are sometimes a compulsory component of an undergraduate degree. Statistics can also be a study in itself with majors in Statistics and Decision Sciences which may be taken in B.Com, BSc and BA degrees.
At the postgraduate level, the department delivers a coursework Masters degree in Applied Statistics, as well as the research degrees: MPhil and PhD.
