Doctor of Physiotherapy

The Doctor of Physiotherapy is a three-year professional extended masters degree and will produce physiotherapists with advanced clinical decision-making abilities to practice person centred healthcare in contemporary healthcare environments.

You will learn the skills of the physiotherapist based on the best available evidence to effectively assess, diagnose, treat and educate people across all ages with disorders of movement resulting from a range of conditions. You will graduate with advanced clinical skills as well as business, management and leadership training and be ready to launch a fulfilling career as a physiotherapist across a broad range of health care settings.

The Doctor of Physiotherapy program has achieved full accreditation by the Australian Physiotherapy Council.

Course information and how to apply

Prerequisite units of study

Applicants need recent successful completion of at least one tertiary unit in each of the following areas:

  • Human anatomy (musculoskeletal and system)
  • Human physiology (cell and system)
  • Psychology
  • Research methods
