So long, and thanks for all the soup

Winter is coming to an end, and so too is the Soup Kitchen. While the theme for previous years has been experimental flavours, this year the varieties were kept simple and the focus was more on a sense of community.

Staff and students have come to expect great things from our budget soup lunches, so no one is more elated than Executive Head Chef Peter Brewty that the Macquarie community has jumped on board with the idea of ‘Paying it Forward’.

“We have received 175 soup donations from staff and students as random acts of kindness,” says Peter. “We have given away 105 of those, so still have quite a few to pay forward before the soup kitchen closes next week.”

The last day of the soup kitchen is Friday 28 August with the final week’s menu still up for debate.
