Royal recognition for Macquarie student

Congratulations to fourth year Law and Media student, Morgan Leon Foulsham who was one of two Australian university students to receive the Crown Princess Mary Scholarship at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark.

Morgan, who is currently studying International Law and Sustainability, International Sales Law, and Public International Law at the University of Copenhagen as part of the Macquarie exchange program was awarded $1600 for his leadership skills and involvement in a number of voluntary organisations.

“I was honoured to receive the Crown Princess Mary Scholarship and to have met an inspirational lady who makes me proud to be an Australian,” said Morgan.

Morgan says it was surreal to listen to the Princess deliver a speech that wished him the best of luck for his future.

“The scholarship inspires me to never doubt myself, because there are Australians all around the world, like Princess Mary, who were once ordinary but are now using their success to make a positive difference,” he said.

The Crown Princess Mary Scholarships are part of the University of Copenhagen’s wedding gift to the Crown Prince couple in 2004. Each year, the University invites Australian exchange partner universities to nominate a student for the scholarship.
