Framing our future at the inaugural Annual Conference

Cross-disciplinary teams across campus have been hard at work developing and delivering projects that support our values and strategic priorities. The inaugural University Annual Conference: A Framing of Futures is a one-day event where the University community can see how far we’ve come, what comes next, and how you can get involved.

“We’re emboldening our people to make changes that challenge preconceived ideas about what we are now, and what we can be in the future,” said Chief Operating Officer Dr Paul Schreier, whose Strategic Planning and information Office is organising the event.

Held in Macquarie Theatre on 3 October, the day will be split into two key areas of activity:

  1. An all-staff engagement space where units and project teams will display their contributions to our strategic initiatives, and be on-hand to discuss their offerings and opportunities for further collaboration.
  2. A series of discussions by executive leaders on the momentum and outcomes in each priority stream, to an audience of nominated representatives from around campus who will be tasked with reporting back to their areas on what they have learned.

“This is a unique opportunity to show how each of these initiatives interrelate, and how they’re making real improvements to the day-to-day work of our academic and professional staff” said Director of Strategic Planning, Associate Professor James Rabeau.

“And crucially,” he adds, “to demonstrate how the University is coming together across professional and academic areas of expertise to achieve these goals, giving us a glimpse of what our future looks like when we work together.”

Nominated attendees have been invited and the foyer exhibitors are being finalised. Contact ouruniversity@mq.edu.au to find out more.
