An astronomical week snapped on campus

The Macquarie University’s Research Centre for Astronomy, Astrophysics and Astrophotonics (MQAAAstro) hosted a fantastic week long program of events, including presentations from some of Australia’s frontline explorers in outer space.

On Monday 21 July the Macquarie University Art Gallery also launched their new concurrent exhibition Fields of Vision: Art & Astronomy to over 100 university, art gallery and astronomy guests.

The idea to combine Art & Astronomy in a unique exhibition was brought to fruition after original discussions between Quentin Parker, Rhonda Davis, Kate Hargraves and Leonard Janiszewski. Fields of Vision: Art & Astronomy will be on display until 22 August.

Some highlights from the rest of the week’s activities are documented below – from quirky slides to answering the public’s big questions.
