Library display is child’s play

Whether or not children’s literature is your professional area of expertise or interest, you’re still bound to enjoy the Library’s current display.

The Library has delved into its excellent curriculum collection and retrieved many favourites – both old and new – from its stock of children’s literature. The curriculum collection supports the School of Education and the study of children’s literature.

The display includes a colourful and quirky selection of books, games, posters, puppets, toys and other realia. There are separate displays for rare and old items, as well as for Indigenous and other Australian items. The exhibition was put together by Research Librarian Catie Croaker along with Alison Briggs and Rory Fallis.

So if you’re passing the library and want to see if something from your childhood is included, come in and take a look! The exhibition will be on display until June in the exhibition space on the entrance level of the Library, near the Lachlan and Elizabeth Macquarie Room.
