Academic advisors are invited to attend free workshops sponsored by the Australian Business Deans Council Learning and Teaching Network on Wednesday 5 July at the MGSM Conference Centre:

Redesigning Course Assessment – A Program Leader’s Guide
9:15am – 1pm
Professor Chris Rust, Emeritus Professor of Higher Education, Oxford Brookes University, will present this interactive workshop intended for any program or course leader, or head of school/department, who seriously wants to improve their assessment practice. Supported by current research, the workshop will argue the need to improve summative assessment, in particular the assessment of program outcomes and integrated learning.

Supporting Employability – Workshop for Academic Advisors
11am – 1pm

Independent Higher Education consultant Lorna Froud will lead this interactive workshop to help give academic advisors an opportunity to develop and share good practices in providing timely, effective and appropriate support for student academic success and employability. Through a series of practical activities, participants will develop a deeper understanding of critical self-awareness in the context of employability and what encourages students to develop effectively.
