Workday: Our new HR system launches next Monday

You will have received emails from Nicole Gower, VP People and Services about the exciting upcoming launch of Workday on Monday 8 February.

Workday is being implemented as part of the Digital Transformation stream of our Operating Plan 2020-24 and will replace our current patchwork of systems including HR Online, Talent, staff learning systems, and several timesheet systems used by the University and its entities. It will enable us to drive efficiencies in HR processes by reducing the need for several paper forms, streamlining processes by decreasing double-handling, and providing process transparency within the system. It will also bring us into the 21st century as we’ll be able to access Workday anywhere, anytime using computer, mobile phone, or tablet.

In preparation for Workday, our current HR systems will be gradually ‘switched off’ over the next few weeks, and normal HR and Payroll processing may be impacted for short periods of time during this time.  This is to ensure we maintain the integrity of data being migrated from HR Online to Workday.  More information about key dates and impacts to HR and Payroll processing times during this period can be found in the email distributed by Nicole Gower, Vice President People and Services, on 19 January 2021.

Please keep an eye out next Monday 8 February for more information about (i) logging into Workday for the first time, and (ii) accessing self-paced training through short videos and job aids (step-by-step guides), which will be available within Workday itself.

In the meantime, if you would like to know more about Workday, visit www.mq.edu.au/workday or email your questions to workday@mq.edu.au.
