Sonic Vaccination Hub closing

The Sonic COVID-19 Vaccination Hub at Macquarie University will close at 5pm on 30 November after providing more than 87,000 doses of vaccine.

The hub, which originally opened in May to provide vaccinations for healthcare and aged care workers, is no longer required as the delivery of boosters is largely being managed by other providers, including GPs.

Booster doses of Pfizer are now available for everyone aged 18 and older who has received their second dose of vaccine at least six months ago, regardless of which vaccine they received originally.

While boosters are not mandatory, they are recommended to maintain immunity against COVID-19.

Appointments for third doses are available at both MQ Health General Practice Clinics for those with Medicare cards.

If you do not have a Medicare card, please contact Ryde Respiratory Clinic for your booster appointment.

For more information about booster vaccines, visit the Australian Government’s website.
