New art collection curated by Campus Life and Macquarie University Art Gallery

Campus Life staff and Rhonda Davis, Senior Curator at the Macquarie University Art Gallery, have selected artworks to be displayed at the Sport and Aquatic Centre on an ongoing basis (with pieces rotated regularly).

The pieces have been carefully chosen to align with Campus Life values and what Campus Life represents on campus – a safe and inclusive space.

There will be four different collections featured  in various locations within the Centre, featuring rarely scene artworks from the Macquarie University Art Collection, including:

  • Indigenous art from local Aboriginal artists
  • Indigenous landscape artwork
  • A portrait of Dawn Fraser
  • A collection by Tamara Dean titled Is it a girl or is it a boy?  – a series of androgynous photographs that align with Campus LIfe’s LGBTI inclusion policy.

You need not to be a member of the Sport and Aquatic Centre to view the works. Simply let staff know when you arrive – they’ll be on-hand to show students, staff and community through the collections.
