A peek at Tweek – our new policy management system

A new policy development and management system will be launched in early February 2021.  All policies, procedures, guidelines, rules and other related policy documents of the University will move to a system called “Tweek!” which is in wide use across the higher education sector.

Policy Central currently sits on the staff portal, and while this does not restrict access, it is confusing for students.  The new-look Policy Central will be located under a more intuitive URL.  Current links to policies will not be disrupted as links to policies in Policy Central will be redirected to the new Policy Central URL.

Key benefits of the new system are:

  • A Bulletin Board to facilitate and collate policy consultation and feedback.
  • Easy access to historic and future versions of policy documents.
  • Automated reminders to the responsible area when policy documents are due for review.
  • Automated endorsement and approval workflows.
  • Version control and document security, including during the development/review process.

More information will be circulated directly to stakeholders during January 2021. Training will be organised for users (e.g. policy author, or policy endorser/approver) following the February launch.
