Congratulations to Professor Jeanette Kennett from the Department of Philosophy has been elected as one of 38 new Fellows of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia.

Jeanette joins more than 700 members of the Academy comprising Australia’s leading researchers and professionals across the social science disciplines.

With each Fellow elected by their peers on the basis of a sustained and internationally distinguished contribution to their field, it is a notable achievement.

“I feel very honoured to be elected,” Jeanette says. “My work in moral psychology and applied ethics is very interdisciplinary – I work with people in philosophy, psychology, psychiatry, bioethics and law.

“It is exciting and encouraging to see the relevance of philosophy to the social sciences recognised by this election.”
