Students move to MQ2020 Curriculum

On 10 October, the first cohort of students were moved to the new curriculum in readiness for re-enrolment in 2020.

The beginning of this process is the next major milestone on our curriculum transformation journey under the Program Beacon banner.

The curriculum transformation means that every student at Macquarie University must have their pre-2020 courses and units mapped to the new curricula. The process is complex and will take the team three months to complete for all current students.

A daily schedule for the transition of student cohorts is available to Faculties for reference and checking. While the transition is in progress, staff access to the student management system-AMIS 8 and individual student records may be restricted. Active AMIS users will be briefed on when and how to access the system during this period.

For our students, as they’re moved into the new curriculum, they’ll be sent an email with details of the changes and what to do next.

We’ve also updated the student information across the web, digital screens and posters; and we’ll be deploying student Rovers who will be out and about on campus, supporting their peers during these changes. You’ll recognise the Rovers in their distinctive red caps and t-shirts.

Our 2020 commencing students will be able to enrol from mid-November. Continuing postgraduate students will be able to re-enrol from mid-November. For our MUIC and continuing Undergraduate students, in December we’ll email them a personalised study plan and a guide to January 2020 re-enrolment.

If you want to know more about these and other changes, visit the MQ2020 website for student-facing information and the SCIP AMIS and Student Migration Toolkit for staff resources.
