Beacon lights the way!

Thank you to everyone who participated in our recent ‘Name that Project’ competition, where we asked staff to name our new Student Management Program.

From a competitive field of 132 names, suggested by 51 different staff members, a winning name was decided upon – Project Beacon.

This name was submitted by a few people, but the first person to enter the name (who is therefore the competition winner) was Alison Guerreiro from Student Administration.

Congratulations Alison, a $250 voucher for Macquarie Shopping Centre is coming your way.

The name ‘Beacon’ clearly fits with our objectives for the Student Management Program, which is focused on improving our student experience at Macquarie University.

Project Beacon specifically includes the selection and implementation of a new Curriculum Management System and Student Management System to replace our existing Webforms, Handbook and AMIS systems.

Project Beacon will light the way on our journey towards modernising our business processes, practices and systems to offer a greatly improved experience for both staff and students.

These are exciting times for students and staff at Macquarie University – let’s together, keep the Beacon shining!

The micro course name-game winner will be published in next week’s newsletter.
