May Measurement Month is a global initiative, encouraging people to have their blood pressure checked.
Did you know?
- The number one contributing risk to global death is high blood pressure
- 10 million people die needlessly each year because of high blood pressure
- Half of people with high blood pressure don’t know they have it
Free blood pressure checks and advice will be available on campus each day between 21-25 May. You’ll receive tips to prevent high blood pressure and – if you’re at risk – you’ll get advice on what you should do next.
Times and locations :
- 12 pm – 2 pm: Outside MUSE
- 2 pm – 4 pm: Lincoln Lawn (Campus Common in case of wet weather)

Terrific! Count me in. If GP’s did blood pressure checks for people over say 55 fewer people would die from strokes. Not a medico but ….. my ex went to GP for a minor complaint – no blood pressure or other health check was done and he died of a stroke two weeks later. This ‘stuff’ is quick and saves lives.
