Semester Exchange - University of Lausanne
Ranked in the top 150 in the QS World University Ranking, University of Lausanne is a higher teaching and research institution composed of seven faculties where approximately 14,300 students and 3,000 researchers work and study.
Its main campus is located on the shores of the Lake Geneva, in the heart of the French-speaking region of Switzerland, in a beautiful green landscape with splendid views of the Alps.
English taught courses available for exchange students are in the area of Business and Management at undergraduate level and Business, Economics, Management, IT and Law at postgraduate level.
French speakers (with B2 level or above) can choose any courses available for exchange students at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
Free French classes are available for exchange students.

Course Information | Please note that Lausanne offers English-taught law units at their postgraduate school (School of Criminal Sciences) and these units are open to undergraduate exchange students. However, exchange students will need to get faculty approval from the School of Criminal Sciences at Lausanne to be able to take postgraduate units. Accommodation | The University of Lausanne does not currently have a hall of residence on campus. However, it works closely with the Fondation Maisons pour Etudiants Lausanne (FMEL), which welcomes over 2,500 students at 14 locations, mainly within the Lausanne urban area. The University of Lausanne will try to secure accommodation for exchange students in an FMEL hall of residence, otherwise will help exchange students find other off-campus accommodation. |

Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for this program, you must:
- A WAM of 60 or higher (varies each program),
- Completion of at least 40cp at the time of application. 60cp to go abroad,
- Enough credit points remaining to complete the program,
- Have a nomination from Macquarie University,
- Meet English or French language requirement for non-native speakers,
- Comply with the eligibility criteria outlined in the Student Exchange Policy.

Important notes:
Application Fee and Payment Options: For all exchange programs (semester and short term), there is a compulsory application fee. For more information and payment options please refer to the Payment Website.
Insurance: It is a requirement of the exchange program that all students must purchase their own travel insurance to cover them for the duration of their journey beyond their overseas program. Students will be covered throughout the duration of their exchange program dates. More information will be given to students upon acceptance.
Program Costs: You remain enrolled at Macquarie University and continue to pay your tuition fees to Macquarie University. As an exchange student you pay no tuition fees to host university. However, you must also always be prepared for unexpected expenses, and should consider how you will be dealing with the expenses of your exchange before you leave your home country. Prior to departure, you will need to save sufficient funds to cover all of your expenses for the duration of your exchange. Some costs to consider include: airfares, students visa (if required), travel health insurance, accommodation, food, additional travel, entertainment, textbooks, incidental expense. If you wish to work while you are away, it is important to note that work rights for international students vary from country to country. For further information about your visa restrictions please contact the consulate or embassy of your host country.
