The Amsterdam Summer School of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam offers interactive courses which are available on a Study Abroad (Fee-paying). The courses are designed to provide an intensive, in-depth look at your topic of study. You will participate in engaging discussions with a unique group of peers, from all parts of the world. All courses include built-in excursions to museums and institutes such as the Anne Frank House and the International Criminal Court. This extends the learning beyond the classroom and enhances the courses' practical applicability. Personal guidance by your instructors, all excellent professors at VU Amsterdam, and a stimulating cultural environment provide a meaningful and lasting experience.

Accommodation: The Amsterdam Summer School offers three housing options, both on and off campus (note: from today 22 March, no university housing available anymore). All housing is arranged from Saturday to Saturday, so 14 nights. Please note that all locations have mixed hallways. Please refer to the accommodation website
Course Details: Students can take a variety of courses offer in the summer school. Students will apply for RPL on their return to gain credit for the completed units. To be eligible for this program, you must:
- A cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
- Completion of at least 12cp at the time of application
- Enough credit points remaining to complete the program
- Comply with the eligibility criteria outlined in the Student Exchange Policy

Acceptance: Acceptance into the Macquarie program does not guarantee acceptance into Amsterdam Summer School of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
Insurance: It is a requirement of the exchange program that all students must purchase their own travel insurance to cover them for the duration of their entire journey overseas. More information will be given to students upon acceptance.
Program Costs: As a study abroad student you pay tuition fees to host university. As such, you will not be enrolled at Macqaurie for the duration of your overseas studies. Program cost are listed on the host university website. You must also always be prepared for unexpected expenses, and should consider how you will be dealing with the expenses of your exchange before you leave your home country. Prior to departure, you will need to save sufficient funds to cover all of your expenses for the duration of your exchange. Some costs to consider include: airfares, students visa (if required), travel health insurance, accommodation, food, additional travel, entertainment, textbooks, incidental expense. If you wish to work while you are away, it is important to note that work rights for international students vary from country to country. For further information about your visa restrictions please contact the consulate or embassy of your host country.
