Take the opportunity this July to study abroad at one of the top universities in the UK and the world!

The University of Exeter is running its annual International Summer School which has been a popular choice among students from all corners of the world. The exciting program starts off with a 4-day stay in London to explore the beauty of the capital before moving down to Exeter - recognised as one of most beautiful places in the UK. It also includes a live Shakespeare play at the famous Globe Theatre, day trips to various coastal locations and the chance to visit the Warner Brother Studios, home of Harry Potter.

The academic program will be based from the Streatham campus and will encompass a wide range of courses to suit most interests. The courses have been specially designed for the summer program and are taught by the university's world-class faculty as well as external specialists brought in to ensure understanding of the subject area from different angles. All the courses have been pre-mapped for you so you know what MQ unit they will be credited towards. Refer to the equivalencies guide below.

This year you have the option to study up to two courses within the 3 week period. The courses have been split into two timetables. Please find it here. You can combine any subject in timetable one with timetable two, however, there are two subjects that cannot be combined with another subject due to the schedule and workload. These have been highlighted on the bottom of timetable one.

The entire program fee is £2,400 for one course, equivalent to 7.5 ECTS and £3,150 for two courses, equivalent to 15 ECTS. The fee includes tuition, accommodation at a central London hotel during the first 4 days of the program, accommodation at the Streatham campus, transport in the UK including a meet and greet at the airport, as well as the exciting social program.

To be eligible for this program, you must meet the following:

  • Macquarie Abroad General Eligibility Criteria
  • Nomination from Macquarie University
  • English language proficiency for non-native speakers
  • Review the course information and restricted courses to check it is suitable for your degree progression at Macquarie University

Important notes:

Application Fee and Payment Options: For all exchange programs (semester and short term), there is a compulsory application fee. For more information and payment options please refer to the Payment Website.

Logistics Fees: See host University website for fees.

Insurance: It is a requirement of the exchange program that all students must purchase their own travel insurance to cover them for the duration of their entire journey overseas. More information will be given to students upon acceptance.

Program Costs: As a study abroad student you pay tuition fees to host university. As such, you will not be enrolled at Macquarie for the duration of your overseas studies. Program cost are listed on the host university website. You must also always be prepared for unexpected expenses, and should consider how you will be dealing with the expenses of your exchange before you leave your home country. Prior to departure, you will need to save sufficient funds to cover all of your expenses for the duration of your exchange. Some costs to consider include: airfares, students visa (if required), travel health insurance, accommodation, food, additional travel, entertainment, textbooks, incidental expense. If you wish to work while you are away, it is important to note that work rights for international students vary from country to country. For further information about your visa restrictions please contact the consulate or embassy of your host country.
