Founded in 1946, Seoul National University (SNU) is a national research university widely considered to be the most prestigious university in South Korea and one of the leading universities in Asia and in the world.

The International Summer Program at Seoul National University (SNU ISP) offers an exceptional opportunity for students to study at SNU for 6 weeks.

Conducted completely in English and taught by distinguished SNU and international faculty, more than 35 courses are offered on a diverse range of academic fields including Arts, Engineering, .

Along with lectures, SNU ISP also offers its students opportunities to explore Korea's culture and society through customised field-trips and a number of extra-curricular activities.

Accommodation

SNU ISP offers the options to stay at Seoul National University's on-campus housing.

Housing is not guaranteed for all students as there are limited spots available. Rooms will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis to students who complete the application and registration process including payment of program fees.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this program, you must:

  • Enrolled into an undergraduate degree at Macquarie
  • Students must have minimum GPA of 2.0 at time of assessment
  • Completed a minimum 18cp at time of assessment
  • Pay the $50 Application Fee
  • Satisfy other criteria specified in the Student Exchange Policy

How to Apply Applicants must complete an online Application form. You'll need to include:

Important notes:

Application Fee and Payment Options: For all exchange programs (semester and short term), there is a compulsory application fee. For more information and payment options please refer to the Cost and Funding Website.

Logistics Fees:  Airfare: subject to change depending on time of booking. Students should not book until they receive official acceptance from SNU ISI

Insurance: It is a requirement of the exchange program that all students must purchase their own travel insurance to cover them for the duration of their entire journey overseas. More information will be given to students upon acceptance.

Program Costs: This is a fee-paying program, all students must pay the program fee under the instruction of the host university. Also, There is an application fee of approximately AUD250 for the course, payable to SNU and separate from the $75 application fee due to Macquarie University. Students who wish to stay in the on-campus dormitory (see “Accommodation”) will need to pay directly to SNU ISI.
