Attending the Universität Hamburg Master of International Business and Sustainability (MIBAS) Summer School of Sustainability would mean studying at the biggest research and education institution in Northern Germany. Enjoy the thriving atmosphere of the Hamburg campus and city, all while gaining credit towards your postgraduate degree in the Faculty of Business and Economics. In the course of the Summer School of Sustainability, students will study three selected courses of the MIBAS program, offered as block seminars.There are $2000 Endeavour Scholarships available for this program (only for students with Australian citizenship or PR).

Course Details:  Classes will be conducted in the format of seminars, which will cover International CSR Reporting, Applied Business Ethics, and Managing Integrity: Compliance and Responsibility. This program will be approved as BUS870.
Please refer to the unit equivalencies guide for credit(s) you would receive for the subjects you wish to study while on the program.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this program, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Students must be enrolled in Master of Commerce or Master of International Business, or able to take BUS870 as part of their degree
  • Students must have minimum GPA 2.0 of 4.0 at time of assessment
  • Students must have enough credit left in degree to enrol in BUS870
  • Satisfy other criteria specified in the Student Exchange Policy.

Application Fee: For all exchange programs (semester and short term), there is a compulsory application fee. For more information and payment options please refer to the Cost and Funding Website.

Logistics Fees: Students need to consider their flight tickets

Insurance: It is a requirement of the exchange program that all students must purchase their own travel insurance to cover them for the duration of their entire journey overseas. More information will be given to students upon acceptance.

Program Costs: You remain enrolled at Macquarie University and continue to pay your tuition fees to Macquarie University. As an exchange student you pay no tuition fees to host university. However, you must also always be prepared for unexpected expenses, and should consider how you will be dealing with the expenses of your exchange before you leave your home country. Prior to departure, you will need to save sufficient funds to cover all of your expenses for the duration of your exchange. Some costs to consider include: airfares, students visa (if required), travel health insurance, accommodation, food, additional travel, entertainment, textbooks, incidental expense. If you wish to work while you are away, it is important to note that work rights for international students vary from country to country. For further information about your visa restrictions please contact the consulate or embassy of your host country.
