Short Term Exchange - Aarhus University, School of Business and Social Sciences (January)
Aarhus University is a prestigious public university located in Aarhus, Denmark. Founded in 1928, it is Denmark's second oldest university and the largest, with a total of 44,500 enrolled students as of 1 January 2013, after a merger with Aarhus School of Engineering. In most prestigious ranking lists of the world's best universities, Aarhus University is placed in the top 100.The January program is an option for a student to take one subject abroad at Aarhus that will count towards their Macquarie degree.
Aarhus BSS Winter School 2018 was attended by nearly 100 students, around 30 students per class. 93% of students who attended in 2018 would recommend fellow students to attend the programme.

Accommodation: Each is responsible for organising their accommodation for the duration of their stay. There are plenty of options available in or around Aarhus city centre and the university. Please see the Aarhus website for recommendations.
Course Information: There will be three courses on offer for the January program; Climate law - international and EU law in context, Danish and European Business in a Global Perspective, Branding and Advertising in Complex Markets. Please see attached the MQ equivalencies. Students may select one unit to take.

To be eligible for this program, you must meet the following criteria:
- Enrolled into an undergraduate degree at Macquarie Univeristy
- Students must have minimum GPA 2.0 of 4.0 at time of assessment
- Completed a minimum 18 credit points at time of assessment,
- Have the relevant unit in their degree plan to take the short term subject
- Satisfy other criteria specified in the Student Exchange Policy

Insurance: It is a requirement of the exchange program that all students must purchase their own travel insurance to cover them for the duration of their entire journey overseas. More information will be given to students upon acceptance.
Program Costs: You remain enrolled at Macquarie University and continue to pay your tuition fees to Macquarie University. As an exchange student you pay no tuition fees to host university. However, you must also always be prepared for unexpected expenses, and should consider how you will be dealing with the expenses of your exchange before you leave your home country. Prior to departure, you will need to save sufficient funds to cover all of your expenses for the duration of your exchange. Some costs to consider include: airfares, students visa (if required), travel health insurance, accommodation, food, additional travel, entertainment, textbooks, incidental expense. If you wish to work while you are away, it is important to note that work rights for international students vary from country to country. For further information about your visa restrictions please contact the consulate or embassy of your host country.
