In order to keep pace with rapid change, companies need pioneering leaders and managers who are agile, motivated and resilient, and who inspire greatness.
In Macquarie’s management programs, you’ll develop higher-level skills that will help you lead people, work collaboratively, adapt to changing circumstances, communicate clearly and effectively, and manage diversity.
Bachelor of Economics and Law
Ben graduated with a first-class honours degree in Economics combined with an honours degree in Law in 2007. Since graduating from Macquarie University, he has worked for two global organisations - PricewaterhouseCoopers and UBS and is currently based in Hong Kong working with UBS’s Asia Pacific Group Strategy Department.
Ben chose Macquarie for its “extremely flexible” degree which allowed him “to tailor subject choices to better suit [his] interests and strengths”. A double degree in Commerce and Law gave him the important economic and financial knowledge, but also the understanding of legal and regulatory environment which is just as critical for success in business.
In his current role at UBS, Ben is tasked with formulating and implementing UBS’s strategy across its investment banking, wealth management and asset management divisions. “The ability to conduct detailed research, synthesize disparate data and formulate credible argument/recommendation to a given problem are skills that I attained at university and now employ on a daily basis in my role at UBS”.
Salaries are very competitive and depend on your skills, responsibilities, size of the organisation you work in, your experience and whether you hold an undergraduate or postgraduate degree. The average salary for a General Manager is around $90,000 per year and can easily exceed $130,000.

"Participating in the Deloitte Fastrack Challenge through the PACE program was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Throughout the program, my team was able to develop real life business skills by engaging with professionals, applying theory into practice, and giving a final pitch in front of Deloitte senior executives, mentors, and university academics. I highly recommend students to join the PACE program. It guides students to be industry-ready upon completion of the program." – PACE alumna, Se Yeon Kim
