Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) helps international students cover their medical costs.
OSHC Worldcare is our chosen provider of Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).
As an international student, you must take out OSHC as a condition of your student visa. We arrange payment of OSHC to Worldcare when you pay your fees and before you are issued with your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).
Why do I need health insurance?
- Medical treatment in Australia is expensive, and if you have an accident or get sick, insurance will cover many of your expenses.
- OSHC is a mandatory requirement of the student visa and the policy must cover the full length of your visa duration.
Cost of OSHC - premiums
You can receive a quick quote from the Allianz website for your OSHC premium.
How to renew a lapsed policy
If your OSHC membership has expired:
- You are in breach of your student visa
- You are not covered for any medical treatment
You can arrange to renew your lapsed OSHC policy through your education institution at the miShop, Building E3A, Level 1 or online by visiting the OSHC insurer's website.
