This merit-based admission pathway considers your performance in specific Year 12 subjects that align with your chosen Macquarie degree.

Eligibility

To be considered for this entry pathway, you must be a domestic or international student applying via UAC in 2026 and have:

• received an ATAR and successfully completed either:
  • the New South Wales HSC (or equivalent interstate qualification) in Australia or overseas
  • the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in Australia
• satisfied the listed Year 12 subject requirements for at least one of your course preferences.

Year 12 subject requirements vary for each degree and will need you to have:

• completed at least three specified HSC Board Developed Courses (or equivalent interstate subjects or IB subjects), including English
• achieved a specified minimum performance band in each subject.

Eligible subjects and minimum performance bands vary by degree. VET subjects are ineligible for all degrees. Satisfying minimum criteria does not guarantee admission.

Eligible applicants will be automatically considered in the December 2026 and January 2027 UAC offer rounds.

How to apply

• Apply via UAC in time for the December 2026 or January 2027 main offer rounds. See UAC key dates.
• Include at least one Macquarie undergraduate course in your UAC preferences.

There’s no separate application process. If you’re eligible, you’ll be automatically considered for Subject Advantage Entry during the December and January UAC offer rounds.

Courses

All undergraduate degrees and diplomas are available via this entry pathway, except:

• Bachelor of Actuarial Studies with Professional Practice (Honours)
• Bachelor of Clinical Science leading to Doctor of Physiotherapy
• Bachelor of Clinical Science leading to Master of Clinical Audiology
• Bachelor of Clinical Science leading to Master of Speech and Language Pathology
• Bachelor of Clinical Science leading to Master of Public Health
• Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) – StepAhead Program
• UniReady.

Applicants for the Standard Foundation Program and Intensive Program may also be considered under Subject Advantage Entry Scheme criteria. These programs require a minimum level of performance in English and Mathematics.
