Aim | The NHMRC Early Career Fellowships scheme provides four-year Fellowships to early career researchers to assist them in their health and medical research training within Australia or overseas (where applicable). The specific objectives of the scheme are to:

Funding | Early Career Fellowship packages are awarded for four years at the Training Support Package Level 1 with an additional $5,000 p.a. for maintenance while based in Australia. If appropriate, clinical loadings (up to $15,000 p.a. for practicing medical practitioners, up to $7,500 p.a. for dental practitioners and ECF's who do not engage in clinical duties). Pro-rata rates apply for part-time research. As the packages provided by the NHMRC are below the actual salary costs (including on-costs), Faculties and Departments must meet the salary gap between the award and the Macquarie salary scale. |
