Economic evaluation of health care interventions
Rachel is a Research Fellow at MUCHE.
Prior to joining MUCHE, Rachel worked in both NSW Health as a Data Manager and in pharmaceutical consulting where she focused on economic modelling and developing pricing strategies in the area of oncology and diabetes. Rachel worked as a Data Manager at Justice Health in the Drug & Alcohol (D&A) clinical stream for over four years, and was responsible for developing and managing data collection systems, conducting data analysis focused on clinical research outcomes and evaluating the effectiveness of departmental services. Rachel has experience in project management, with one of her D&A data collection and reporting system projects being recognised as a finalist in the 2014 Suncorp Treasure Management Fund Awards in the innovation process category.
Rachel completed a Master of Health Economics (Advanced) from the University of Queensland, making the Dean’s Honour Roll for her academic excellence. Rachel’s master’s project assessed the cost effectiveness of the Atkins diet for overweight and obese individuals within the Australian population and her areas of interest include Health Technology Assessment, economic evaluation of health care interventions and economic modelling techniques.
