Engage with us
Our experienced team is investigating new applications with potential for the environment, industrial enzymes, biopharmaceuticals and agrifoods. We offer research expertise and analytical facilities for large corporations and small or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) seeking practical solutions.
Partner with us
We bring to our partnerships:
- demonstrated research outputs and quality outcomes
- wide-ranging expertise
- outsourcing facilities and expertise for ‘risk research’ projects
- innovation through application of our new technologies.
Study with us
Whatever your research interest or career path, the Biomolecular Discovery and Design Research Centre offers opportunities for pioneering scholarship.
The ‘omics’ are at the core of the biological sciences in the 21st century, and are highly attractive to postgraduate and PhD students.
We host a significant number of higher degree research students from Australia and overseas. Our senior researchers mentor and supervise HDR students, working closely to help them achieve their academic and research goals.
Download the MQMS research booklet for more information on our research.
Scholarships and support
International and domestic students can apply for a number of scholarships from Macquarie University and the Australian Government.
Macquarie also assists postgraduate students and researchers to attend conferences during their candidature.
Macquarie University postgraduate research scholarships
Macquarie University offers generous scholarships for PhD and Masters of Philosophy candidates who meet the selection criteria.
Scholarships generally cover tuition fees and a stipend (living allowance). The stipend rate for the Macquarie University Research Excellence Scholarship (MQRES) matches the current Australian Postgraduate Award rate:
- 2010: $22,500
- 2011: $22,860
