MQ Reading Clinic
Macquarie University has a large concentration of reading researchers conducting cutting-edge research on the theory, assessment, and intervention of reading difficulties. In 2013, this group felt that the scientific evidence-base underpinning our understanding of reading difficulties had reached a critical point of strength that would allow us to build a clinic to service the needs of the community. The Macquarie University Reading Clinic (MURC), which is a not-for-profit organization hosted by the Department of Cognitive Science, was opened in 2014. It provides evidence-based assessments and interventions for children, adolescents and adults with reading and/or spelling difficulties, and it provides professional development and advice for people who are supporting these individuals.
