Quality of patient care
More than 1,000 health professionals attended the first Congress of the Brazilian Society for the Quality of Care and Patient Safety (SOBRASP) held in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, 5-7 June 2019.
Professor Jeffrey Braithwaite, Founding Director of the Australian Institute of Health Innovation and President Elect of the International Society for Quality in Health Care, attended as a keynote speaker.
An international group of delegates met to focus on improving patient safety in Brazil where the rate of occurrence of adverse events in hospital is estimated at 7.6% per year.
While in South America, Professor Braithwaite was also invited to speak at patient safety meetings in Columbia and Argentina.
