AIHI PhD candidate receives first ACHI Fellowship Program work placement

Toby Hodgson, health informatics research PhD candidate at the Australian Institute of Health Innovation (AIHI), Macquarie University, has been awarded a paid six-month work placement at the Australian Digital Health Agency (ADHA).

Toby, whose PhD is in using speech recognition technology, is supervised by Professor Enrico Coiera at AIHI. He started with ADHA in late February 2018 and will gain a deeper understanding of the national healthcare system as part of this placement and further develop his health informatics skills and expertise.

Toby is enrolled in the Australasian College of Health Informatics (ACHI) Fellowship by Training Program, which is supported by the NHMRC Centre for Research Excellence in Digital Health directed by Professor Enrico Coiera.

Candidates of the program are required to complete two paid health informatics placements as part of their Fellowship. PhD candidates are/will be available in Australia and New Zealand and profiles will be available on the ACHI website as they become available.
