Armina Antoniou has more than 20 years of experience as a risk and legal professional with a broad cross section of Australian and global companies. She is the executive general manager group money laundering risk officer at Crown Resorts.
Joanna is an experienced financial sector regulator. During nearly 20 years working at the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, she held a broad range of senior roles, including Executive Director – Financial Services and Wealth and Senior Executive Leader – Financial Advice. She has also advised foreign financial services regulators and taught regulation at the University of New South Wales, Monash University and the University of Sydney.
She is an Adjunct Professor in the Law Faculty at the University of New South Wales. She is currently a Member of the Tax Practitioners Board, a consultant at law firm Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer, and a member of the Compliance Committee for Sandhurst Trustees Limited. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney, as well as a post-graduate law degree (Hons) from the University of Oxford.

BCOM (UNSW) PHD (MQ), Professor Sheedy is on the board of the Governance, Risk and Compliance Institute and an active member of the Risk Managers' Association of Australia. In 2021 she published her first sole-authored book entitled 'Risk Governance: Biases, Blindspots and Bonuses' with Routledge. She is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Banking and Finance - rated A* by the Australian Business Deans' Council. Elizabeth work has enabled her to contribute to the policy debate on financial services misconduct, remuneration practices, enhancing financial services culture/conduct and related issues. She is a popular speaker at industry conferences and a regular media commentator, as well as publishing in top international journals.
Michael’s practice covers specialist safety-related regulatory regimes. He is the author of numerous books on health and safety law. Michael is consistently ranked Band 1 in Chambers legal directory and is recognised by Best Lawyers, Legal 500 and Doyle’s Guide.
Former President of the Law Council of Australia and former Director of the NSW Legal Aid Commission, Stuart Clark is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Law and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He was awarded the degree of Doctor of Laws (Honoris Causa) by Macquarie University in 2017.

She collaborates closely with AUSTRAC locally and holds a position on the APAC KPMG leadership team. Sue has provided support to various clients across financial services, casinos, wagering, fintech, and digital currencies sectors.
Gail is an Executive Director at KordaMentha, specialising in sanctions compliance and financial crime risk. She has led major compliance programs in the banking sector and brings deep expertise in regulatory frameworks, due diligence, and sanctions risk.
Senior Advisor at Norton Rose Fulbright Australia, Jeremy Moller acts as advisor to several large financial institutions and corporates in relation to financial crime compliance. He is experienced in dealing with a range of AML/CTF regulators both in Australia and overseas, including AUSTRAC.

Tony is a twice-commendation Australian Federal Police agent and previous director at AUSTRAC, investigating money laundering.
Dr Mirella Atherton LLB (Macquarie), BSc, BSc (Hons), PhD (Newcastle), is a senior lecturer at the School of Law and Justice, Newcastle University. Mirella teaches Banking and Finance Law. Her specialty research area is financial crime, with a focus on fraud, scams, and technology.
FHEA, LLB (Dunelm), LLM (Leiden), PhD (Amsterdam), Dr Birkett teaches International Law and Criminal Justice. Drawing on his expertise in the domestic implementation of international law, Dr Birkett's recent research has focused on asset recovery at a prospective international anti-corruption court.
Dr Coshott, BA (Dist.) (UNSW), JD, LLM, PhD (SYD), is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Sydney Law School. He is an internationally recognised trust law expert, specialising in using trusts for asset protection and money laundering strategies.
Sean Foley is a Professor of Applied Finance at Macquarie University. His research focuses on Financial Crime - both in traditional financial markets and the role of cryptocurrencies in supporting emerging styles of financial crime such as the darknet, ransomware and money laundering. Sean's research has been published in leading academic journals including the Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Review of Finance and the Journal of Financial Markets.

BaCJ (Mount Royal), MPS (Connecticut), PhD (Loughborough), Dr Ferrill is a senior lecturer at the Australian Graduate School of Policing and Security (CSU), where she is the head of Financial Crime Studies. Dr. Ferrill’s recent research focuses on border governance, transnational cooperation and collaboration.
Ben Scott, BA (Hons) (USyd), LLB (UNE), is a PhD candidate at Macquarie University and serves as a Specialist Advisor in intelligence within the Commonwealth government. He has a background in financial crime compliance, sanctions, and intelligence roles in both banking and law enforcement. Ben's research focuses on intelligence methods, financial crime law, and the history of organised crime.
LLB (HCMCU), LLM (UNSW), MPA (Kaplan), MA (AML/CTF) (CSU), CAMS, Giang Nguyen is a PhD candidate (Macquarie) and a Specialist in the Regulatory Operations branch at AUSTRAC. Prior to joining the public sector, he worked in different AML/CTF compliance functions for CBA and Westpac. Giang is passionate about exploring the regulatory complexities of the Australian AML/CTF regime and its unintended social outcomes.
