Macquarie University FinTech and Banking Research Centre, in partnership with the Digital Finance CRC, hosted the DFCRC Scholarship Top-Up Showcase on 24 June 2025.

The event featured engaging presentations and celebrated the achievements of scholarship recipients Lanping Zhang and Jiuding Cheng, recognised for their outstanding research.

The showcase highlighted DFCRC’s valuable support in advancing students’ research capabilities and career development.

The Macquarie University FinTech and Banking Research Centre hosted a high-level Vietnamese delegation, including:

• officials from the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Industry and Trade
• leaders from key education and industry bodies.

The visit explored collaboration in fintech, banking and AI through joint research, customised training and PhD programs.

Presentations covered:

• AI-driven risk detection in banking
• the transformative impact of generative AI
• cybersecurity challenges and opportunities
• AI-powered scam disruption.

Both sides expressed strong interest in building long-term partnerships to foster innovation and talent exchange between Australia and Vietnam.
