Evidence-based practice for health professionals

Examine evidence-based best practice and clinical reasoning for the assessment and management of lymphoedema and chronic oedemas.

This online hybrid unit is designed to be interactive and multimodal, enhancing the student’s learning experience. It includes:

  • learning activities
  • embedded readings
  • knowledge checks
  • videos
  • forum activities
  • online tutorials.

Program details

  • Accredited or eligible Australasian Lymphology Association Lymphoedema Practitioner or international equivalent.

At the successful completion of this online training program you will be able to:

  • demonstrate knowledge of evidence based best practice and clinical reasoning for the assessment and management of lymphoedema and chronic oedemas
  • demonstrate safe and effective, patient-centred competencies and communication skills in delivering high quality assessment and management strategies for lymphoedema and chronic oedemas
  • adapt assessment and intervention plans to meet needs of individuals from distinct social and/or cultural groups to ensure culturally respectful care for people with lymphoedema and chronic oedemas
  • work effectively and professionally with members of a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes
  • use feedback from teachers, clinicians and peers to inform self-evaluation and critical reflection of knowledge and skill development.

The unit fee is $1100 plus GST.

Fees must be paid in Australian dollars by credit card or by invoice on request to alerteducation@mq.edu.au.

How to register
  1. Click on the registration link to make the payment.
  2. Once we have received the payment, you will receive a registration survey email. When completing the registration, have your current AHPRA Certificate ready to upload.
  3. Once we have received the completed registration survey, you will receive your official registration letter and ProLearn login instructions to commence your online learning.

A cancellation request will not be considered if a student has already commenced their online learning and assessment. If a student wishes to transfer to another session, they will incur a transfer fee of $100 plus GST.  This transfer fee will be waived if a student can produce a medical certificate and/or suitable evidence of adverse circumstances.
